xLight, a stealth startup developing a revolutionary extreme-ultraviolet EUV light source for leading-edge semiconductor device fabrication, engaged my services to create a compelling visual brand identity and animation suite to attract potential venture capital investors. The goal was to communicate the transformative potential of their technology and secure funding for their ambitious initiative.

Task:

My role in this project was multifaceted, encompassing brand design, motion graphics, and 3D animation:

• Branding Strategy and Visual Identity:
  • Developed a comprehensive branding strategy that captured the essence of xLight’s EUV innovative technology.
  • Designed a unique logo, color palette, and typography to establish a strong and memorable brand presence.
• Landing Page Animation:
  • Created a captivating video animation for xLight’s landing page, using visually engaging graphics and storytelling to subtly introduce their new light source and generate leads.
• 3D Product Animation:
  • Produced a series of detailed 3D animations showcasing xLight’s patented product. These confidential animations, crafted using Maya and After Effects, provided a clear visual explanation of the technology’s inner workings at a nanoscopic scale (1:10,000,000).
  • The development of these animations involved meticulous attention to detail and accuracy to ensure clarity and effectiveness for investor presentations.

Key Outcomes:

• The branding and animation work I produced played a crucial role in xLight securing $10 million of Series A funding from prominent venture capital firms.
• This success has propelled xLight towards a billion-dollar valuation in subsequent funding rounds and closer to their goal of building the first ultimate light source by 2027.
